Her full name is Yemi Eberechi Alade. She is a Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter, who was born on March 13, 1989. Yemi’s dad is a Yoruba descent from Ondo state while her mother is from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria.
Yemi Alade attended Saviour British Primary School for her primary education and for her secondary education, she went to Victory Grammar school in Lagos. She proceeded to the University of Lagos, where she had a degree in Geography.
Alade pursued her musical ambitions while she was obtaining a degree at the University of Lagos. She came into limelight when she won the maiden edition of Peak Talent Show in 2009 and had a hit with her single ‘Johnny’. Johnny was an international hit in many countries including Nigeria, Kenya, Liberia, Uganda, South Africa, Tanzania and United Kingdom.
In addition, Yemi has worked with several producers including Shady, Bizniz, Beat Nation, Young D, PhilKeyz, GospelOnDeBeatz, DIL, OJB Jezreel and EL Mcee.
Alade was mentioned on June 9, 2020, to be among the fore fronts artist from across the world to perform at ‘The Global Goal: Unite for our Future’ which was sponsored by the Global Citizen. She performed at the event alongside top artist from across the world.
