Richard Gomez is an athlete, television presenter, director and politician who was a former contract artist of GMA Network who now returned to ABS-CBN since 2011. He is a famous television and Philippine actor. He graduated from the University of Philippines Open University and the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.
Gomez campaigned for mayor of Ormoc city during the 2016 general election and was proclaimed the winner on May 10, 2016. He assumed office on June 30, 2016. He is one of the top actors in Philippine reigning supreme as a leading actor in movies in the early 1990 and winning several awards and nomination from 1990-1999 he won the best actor from the MMFF in the Film, which started him and Aiko Melendez in 1997 he was nominated again for the film but lost to co-star Jomari Yllana.

His career started in 1985 when he was cast as the love interest of Maricel Soriano in the movie “Inday Bote”. His relationship with Sharon Cuneta was highly publicized during that time as well as with his former girlfriend Dawn Zulueta. He also had a relationship with Patricia Borromeo, a model, who died in 2002 due to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
In 1998, he married Lucy Torres with whom he has a daughter. In 2002, Goma transferred to GMA network via his first melodrama show of the said network, Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw with its sequel Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw Pa Rin as well as a presenter of S-Files when he added or joined. His first GMA sitcom at that time was Lagot Ka, Isusumbong Kita, aired from 2003- 2007.
He is an athlete and excels in sports like fencing and basketball. He was a Gold Medalist in fencing at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games. He is also an organizer for Goma Cup and MAD, a campaign against the use of illegal drugs. He is a model for Bench with his wife and other celebrities. Goma ventured into the restaurant business and became one of the owners of “FELIX”, a restaurant in Greenbelt 5 Makati. He was cast in the philippine editor of Family Feud which aired on GMA network. He is a GMA Network contract artist under GMA Artist Center.
After 17 years since his last debuting on his former sitcom,Tondominium,Gomez returned to the Kapatid Network The 5 Network by hosting a new weekend variety show P.O.5.In 2015, he starred in the mystery drama “You’re My Home” with Dawn Zulueta and an ensemble cast. Gomez started his political career as a nominee of Mamamayan Ayaw sa Droga (MAD) Partylist in the Congressional election of 2001. Their party won but eventually disqualified due to failure to present proof of sectoral representation.
He initially planned to run as governor of Bulacan province but since he still lacks the residency requirements of Malolos being a former resident of Horseshoe, Quezon City, he decided to run instead as a Senator in the 2007 elections. Running independently without a political party endorsing, he lost in that election. He ran for mayor of Ormoc City in the May 2013 local elections but lost. In 2016, he ran again for mayor of Ormoc City in the May 2016 local elections and won.

Celebrity couple Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres surely aged gracefully. Just look at the actor’s recent social media post.
Just before everyone welcomed the New Year, Gomez shared on Instagram a throwback photo of him and his wife probably taken in the early ‘90s.
Gomez can be seen in leopard-printed trunks, while Torres wore a tank top and a pair of shorts. Describing perfectly how he feels about welcoming another year, Gomez wrote in the caption, “When it is 2019 already but deep inside you still feel as young as you look in faded photographs.”
Nonetheless, Gomez said he is looking forward “to a happier, stronger and a more productive year in 2019.”
As of writing, Gomez’s post earned over 42,000 “likes” and hundreds of comments, with netizens agreeing that the couple still looks the same as if no time has passed.
