Amelia had been depressed for over a year, and officers suspect she committed herself due to her despair.
Because of an accident in October 2012, Novi Amelia had become a source of concern. She was driving intoxicated and wearing only underpants at the time. Novi Amelia used her Honda Jazz to hit seven people in the Tamansari area of West Jakarta.

Novi Amelia, an Instagram model who made headlines ten years ago for a traffic incident, was discovered dead in the Kalibata City apartment complex in South Jakarta this morning after allegedly jumping to her death in an apparent suicide.
Amelia was 35 years old at the time.
Novi was observed sitting on the balcony of her flat on the eighth story of the Raflesia tower before she jumped, according to police.
Before she allegedly plunged from the balcony at around 5 a.m., a passing security guard warned her about falling.
She collided with the first-level canopy as she fell from the eighth floor. Then she crashed into a parked automobile, smashing the back window.
Novi is thought to have committed suicide owing to depression, according to police. She was said to have struggled with depression for most of her adult life, undergoing therapy at a mental institution and a psychiatric hospital.
She was laid to rest at a cemetery in Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatra, where she was born.
