Officials say a middle school teacher named Brian Lasher from the Starpoint district has been detained and charged with sex offenses.
Starpoint Superintendent Dr. Sean M. Croft sent a letter to parents informing them that the school district knew Brian Lasher’s arrest and arraignment as a Starpoint Middle School teacher. However， the school district went on to state that they were only recently made aware of the matter.
The school system stated in the letter that the claimed incident did not include any Starpoint Central School District students or staff members.
Lasher was placed on probation after his arraignment. In addition， a comprehensive order of protection has been obtained.

According to criminal accusations filed in Niagara Falls City Court， Lasher and another man engaged in non-consensual intercourse with another individual within the Seneca Niagara Hotel & Casino in February 2021.
Lasher pleaded not guilty， was released from police custody， and is now under the supervision of probation officers. In January， he’ll be back in court.

According to the statement， the school’s concerned authorities were alerted about the charges， which involved improper， unlawful behavior toward another adult individual.
They were told that the incident did not include any district students or employees and did not occur on district premises. Mr. Lasher was immediately placed on administrative leave due to the serious nature of the charges.
The Superintendent of Schools， Dr. Sean M. Croft， also stressed that the system would continue to prioritize the safety of its students and employees. Unfortunately， because it is a personnel situation， the district cannot speak further at this time.
