Mädchen Amick was born in Sparks, Nevada, a town in Reno along the Nevada-California border in the U.S.A on December 12, 1970.
She is the daughter of Judy Amick, a medical office manager, and Bill Amick, a musician.
Amick was encouraged by her parents to follow her creative instincts which led her to learn how to play the piano, bass, violin, and guitar and took lessons in tap, ballet, jazz, and modern dance.
At the age of 16, she moved to Los Angeles with the sole quest to pursue a career in acting.
She began her career with roles in the movies; Star Trek: The Next Generation and Baywatch
Amick married David Alexis on December 16, 1992. Together they have two children, a son, Sylvester Time Amick-Alexis, and a daughter, Mina Tobias.
