Joseph “Joe” Quesada (born January 12， 1962) is an American comic book editor， writer， and illustrator who has worked in the industry for almost three decades. In the 1990s， he rose to prominence as a result of his work on several Valiant Comics titles， including Ninjak and Solar， Man of the Atom.
He went on to work on a number of novels for DC Comics and Marvel Comics， including Batman: Sword of Azrael and X-Factor， before establishing his own business， Event Comics， where he published his own character， Ash， as well as other creator-owned characters. In 1998， he joined Marvel Comics as an editor for the Marvel Knights line， and in 2000， he was promoted to editor-in-chief of the business， making him the first artist to hold that post. In 2010， he was appointed Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment， and he stepped down from his editor-in-chief position in January 2011， when Axel Alonso took over the position.
